an irish in devon

so, what happened before dover?
we spent a week-end with jacqui! [and this is the reason for writing in english today] ;o)

jacqui had invited us to stay with her in her beautiful 600 year old cottage in north molton.
so, this is us in front of her home [kindly nicked from her facebook-page]
through the red door, you enter jacqui's wonderful cosy raspberry-bellini kitchen. a large wooden table in the middle, a comfy sofa in front of the window - and an antique range cooker that not only seamus fell in love with.
he spent hours, whole nights in front of that rayburn. but speaking of love...
jaqcui introduced the young boy to one of the most charming lady-dogs seamus could ever dream of: TIG!
it was not what you'd call love at first sight, but with his dashing looks and impaccable manners he could finally win her over.

so, this is in the back of the car as we were driving through the devon [devonshire? devonian??] countryside. fortunatley, jaqui was driving through the narrow lanes, so we had more opportunity to enjoy one of the most awe-inspiring landscapes the british isle has to offer. [if you have never been there, this is the perfect plan for the next holidays!].

we'd been to the beach  in woolacoombe (after getting new wellies from the farmers' store)

walked through the exmoor national park

crossed rivers

back and forth

and visited beautiful towns and castles

so in the evenings, we were all tired and needed aunty jacqui's special treats

well, now you got a glimspe of what was the outstanding highlight of our holidays!
[without all the pictures of hills, heather, seaside, gardens, dahlias, castles etc. ... believe me, i could ramble on for hours on end!]
